NBA Playoff selection, New Orleans to get it done versus the Spurs

It is very difficult to go against a wiley and taleneted team like the San Antonio Spurs in the playoffs but we are going to to do it. The Spurs run comes to an end tonight. At some point you need more than experience and the Spurs simply do not have the athletic ability to beat the Hornets on the road.

So far at home in this series the Hornets have destroyed the Spurs in every game. They have beaten them by 22, 18, and 19 points in the three games in New Orleans. Well, we don’t need them to win by that much, we need them to win by five. Just give us a five point win!

The problem with the Spurs has been the second half, they look slower and far less athletic in the second half of the games in New Orleans. We expect that to continue and would not be surprised to see the Hornets with a double digit victory.

Kobe Bryant and the Lakers get it done

Last night was a very good example of why we think the Lakers are going to win the whole thing this year. The Lakers, with a hurting Kobe Bryant, went into Utah and delivered the knockout punch. What was so impressive about this Lakers win is this…they were determined and focused.

Look at the fiasco with Boston and Cleveland. That series ought to be shown to people with sleep disorders. What a bad bad series that is. It is going seven games because they both look incompetent. With the Lakers it is different. They came out focused and jumped on the Jazz quickly.

Then in the fourth quarter they withstood a furious Jazz rally to hold on for the win. That is a sign of a team that is well coached, hungry, and with the knowledge on how to win. Lesser teams would have lost last night to the Jazz, the Lakers are not that type of team.

Utah had only lost five games at home all season! Five games. They are a very talented tough team. The Lakers took care of business like they should have. And you have to remember that the Lakers first loss in Utah was by five points. The second loss was in overtime. So the Lakers went into a tough tough place to play…and handled themselves EXTREMELY well. That bodes well for the Lakers no matter who they play.

They have a tough opponent coming up no matter who wins the San Antonio-New Orleans series. I think the Lakers would probably rather play the Spurs than the Hornets. Mainly because it seems easy to wear the Spurs down, especially when the Spurs are on the road. But either way, the next series should be really interesting.

As of now it doesn’t look like anyone can beat the Lakers in a seven game series. And one more point, since the Lakers finished the Jazz off in six games they get to rest. They can REALLY thank the NBA for being ignorant in the playoff scheduling! The Spurs and Hornets don’t play game seven until Monday! How ridiculous is that! The Lakers will not be playing another game until Wednesday. That gives them four full days of rest….rest any team could use right about now. But more importantly it gives the best player on this planet, Kobe Bryant, a chance to get healthier.

Results for 5/13/2008…Chase system now 34-2!

We had a very mixed night.  One note here…most of the bets we make are part of chase systems…although any bet can be part of a chase system. What we do with these results is give you the lowdown on the unit won or loss…even though most of our bets are not over till the designated chase is over.

Last night we won the chase on the Reds and the Diamond Backs to send the Four Game chase system to an incredible 34-2! So even though the Dodgers game was a loss last night it is part of a Four Game chase system so technically it is not a loss yet. Got it? LOL. You will.

So we “lost” a total of two units last night. But again, not really. What we are going to do is write an extensive article on chase betting  and how it works. There are literally 1000’s of ways to chase and most of them are pretty good. However, within chase betting there are some systems that win almost all of the time. What you are getting from us is those systems.

From here on out we are going to separate our chase system plays from NORMAL plays. An example of a NORMAL play last night was Detroit -3 for the 1st half. Or The Redsox over team total of 4.5. Those were NORMAL plays.

But for the sake of being open and honest we lost two units last night…although not really!!

Going to go with the Pistons tonight to get the first half win and the win outright. The first half line is Detroit -3 and the game line is Detroit -6. We are going to take both of those.

Boston gets it done and so do the Lakers! But….

….our chase on the Diamondbacks and the Dodgers fall short. We’ll be back tomorrow with the chase system that is 32-2. Both of these teams, the Diamondbacks and Dodgers, are part of the chase plays so we will most likely be on them tomorrow.

The Red Sox have been so good to us on team totals!! They have now scored at least five runs in 10 of their last 11 games! Let’s hope the line makers keep them at 4.5 for awhile longer!

The Lakers played a good game but could not get it done in overtime. Seemed like a little to much one on one with the Lakers in overtime and this cost them. But they did go over 104 in regulation so we didn’t need the overtime period to get our over! But we sure would have taken it if needed. We’ll discuss in future post about why betting overs is so much better than betting unders. Obviously one of the reasons is that you can take advantage of O.T. situations. And this happens more than you might think.

You will also notice we like taking overs in team totals with the visiting team. Why do we like this so much? It is very simple. In baseball only the visiting team is guaranteed to get nine innings of going to the plate. This gives us an edge when it comes to betting team overs versus betting on a home team that might not come to the plate in the last inning. These are just little things that can make a nice difference when it comes to winning or losing.

Our NBA selection for today!

A couple of days ago we bet the Laker team total over 106. Well, we lost that bet and this was one of those real frustrating losses. The Lakers came within seven points of hitting 106 even though they only put up 43 in the first half! Wow. Very frustrating.

All the numbers point to this game going UNDER, and it might. Be we believe the Lakers have a good shot to win this game and go over 104, which is the present total. It is hard to imagine the Lakers playing so poorly two games in a row…and even with their poor play the other night they still came within shouting distance of the team total.
