Something was not right with this horse. They may never find out what really caused this horse to run so bad. Maybe in the next couple of days they will. It is a very puzzling deal. He broke hard, which most sore horses will not do. He was very eager to run, which most sore horses will not do. The track could have been an issue, but Kent did not say that the track was an issue. We get tired or down for unknown reasons on some days, where we are just going thru the motions, why can't a race horse? I think we were spoiled by the 3 TC winners in the 1970's, and I can remember people then were talking about how the TC was maybe over, that it was no longer a true competitive sport now that they had 3 winners in 10 years! Just goes to show you, even the so called experts are wrong some of the time. I kinda liked Big Brown, he looked like he won the Derby and Preakness so easily, especially the Preakness, loping over the finish line like he was out for a stroll, hardly straining at all.
